《Reuters》報導，敘利亞難民持續湧入歐洲，匈牙利鎮暴警察朝難民發射催淚瓦斯與強力水柱鎮壓。

本週匈牙利當局宣布關閉與塞爾維亞相連的邊界，匈牙利總理更表示他計劃在與克羅埃西亞、羅馬尼亞相鄰的邊界設立柵欄，試圖阻止更多難民湧入歐洲。此舉導致上萬難民在巴爾幹半島四處流竄，找尋是否有其他路線可以進入歐盟。

匈牙利當局派出鎮暴警察維持塞爾維亞相鄰的邊界秩序，部分敘利亞難民朝鎮暴警察投擲石塊，要求讓他們通過，衝突隨即爆發。包括聯合國秘書長潘基文、塞爾維亞總理在內都對此感到非常震驚，要求歐盟對匈牙利殘暴的行為做出反應。

聯合國難民署官員 Antonio Guterres 要求匈牙利當局必須確保難民遷移路線順暢無阻。他在聲明稿中表示，敘利亞難民已經受了很多苦，現在卻被催淚瓦斯與強力水柱攻擊無法進入歐盟，他們感到震驚又難過。

來自大馬士革的難民 Mehmed 帶著他的 3 歲女兒接受採訪表示，如果沒法從匈牙利進入歐盟，他們可能會轉往克羅埃西亞進入歐盟。不過克羅埃西亞境內有許多地雷，克國當局表示他們會派地雷偵測專家前往邊界，確保安全無虞。
